Workforce And Economic Development
The economy of the state of Texas is dependent upon the education and training
supplied by the 72 community and technical colleges of the state. Community and
technical colleges have been designated by the Texas Legislature [Texas
Education Code 130.003 (e)] as the primary provider of workforce education and
training for Texas.
Technical educators from the community/technical colleges are working every day
to address these legislative directives by helping Texas’ businesses meet their
needs for a trained and qualified workforce.
